Where are we going?

A friend and I were walking the other day and he reminded me of the crucial importance of inspiration as we live out our lives. He asked me, Mike what motivates you? I pondered his question for a moment, and the direction that he was taking this conversation. After a while of thinking I said, "My relationship with Christ and the desire to tell others how to be in that relationship motivates me to do what I do each day." I began to see his point.

As a pastor I often ask and expect God's people to serve and serve without motivation. Every so often I need to remind myself and all who serve with us as to why we are doing this whole thing we call church. We serve because Christ calls us to. We serve because He first served us. We serve because we have discovered a life like no other in Jesus and we want the entire world to know the joy that we have found in Christ. As you walk with God this week, take the time to rediscover what motivates and inspires you. So, what motivates you?

we all need a motivation and tend to find it in different ways. i find it through reading the bible, listening to what God has for me through his word and then asking him how i can use the talents (what little they are) he has given me to serve him. coming into new life i know it was God's direction and that he had some areas he wanted me and my family to engage in. we love to serve, and find that when we stay active in His work we feel healthy and good. God is what holds our lives and my family together. i would hope that everyone could find that place. and as you do you will find that peace and it will definitely fit with the direction that God has for you to go.
